17th-Sep-2008 10:26 pm - Rant Class Is In Session
postcards
Why hello everyone,

Where have I been these past few weeks? Off with the fairies, being exhausted by piles of homework and everlasting conflicts left and right? Perhaps, but the true reason of my absence is an whole other subject. Dealing with a serious writers block, that's what. But hopefully that is over, and I can pop out a nice blog for you guys to read.

School has started for most people, just like me. It's exhausting isn't it? Professors who just seem to enjoy us weeping when they schedule yet another test for us to break our necks over. It's cruel. School is all about teaching, not about making children suffer. Why make a test harder than it should be? Aren't kids supposed to learn? Why confuse them with all the unnecessary gibberish? I will never understand the minds of a professor, but who knows I might become one of them some day. But that is all in the future.

Something that has been frustrating me the past couple of days is people who think they're all that and can do whatever they want. And now I'm not referring to rich kids who think they can buy their way into anything and everything. No, I'm talking about intelligent kids, yet arrogant who boss people around like there's no tomorrow. It peeves me. I hate being bossed around, so don't try that around me. When kids get all dominant, they portray an inhumane image in my eyes. They'll talk down on you, they'll hurt you - and for what? Just to be rightBig deal! It's cold, harsh and utter most cruel. Kids like these need a serious reality check if you ask me. It's time to start slapping people ladies and gentleman.

Moving onto another thing that peeves me immensely is people who think they know every little detail there is to know about you, but truly they don't know a damn thing. They go around, telling you precisely who they think you are and what you're all about, when we all know they are just talking nothing but shit. They know you're name, but they don't know anything about you; you're not who they think you are. They're merely on the outside looking in. And the window they happen to be looking through is smudged with mud; so they just picture the image they expect to see behind that window and don't realize how wrong that image could be.

Getting personal, there is a person in my life who thinks she knows me right down to the tee. She tells me I'm cold, heartless if you will. And says that I have a 'itty bitty tiny heart' somewhere inside of me. Even if I come across quite angry, aggravated and cold in my blogs it's usually because my blogs are ranting, venting. I'm not normally this negative about everything in life, trust me on that one. But this kid, yeah kid goes around telling me I am a 'bitch' and that I don't care about people around me. And it truly offends and hurts me. She doesn't even know me, we're friends sure but it's not like we hang out on a daily basis? Heck, barely on a weekly basis. How would she know who I am and what I am all about? Kiddo, if you're reading this; listen up. Why don't you talk to me, get to know me before you start telling me who I supposedly am and what I supposedly am all about. You don't know a thing about me, so just take your speculations and put it where your mouth is.

Whoa. Rant session is over. That was a relief and I really needed to get that off of my chest. Word of advice that I recommend? Whenever you're as angry at people as I am; don't forget to take a breath, count to ten in your mind before you say anything you might regret.

You know you love me xoxo,

April Ryan

If you had to immigrate from your current home, where in the world would you choose to go?

That's a mighty good question. I might want to immigrate to Australia, I've always wanted to go there. The people seem nice and the wildlife is absolutely spectacular. If not there it would be Bangkok, Thailand or New York. I'd love to experience the bustling city life, since I've always lived in towns that are right outside the big cities, away from all the commotion.

What makes you feel better when you're mad?

I guess I'm a pretty mean person, but it always helps me to take my anger out on my older brother, haha yeah I know it's horrible. But other than that usually I grab a notebook and a pen and start writing a song, or I come her to rant about it. I try to convert negative emotions look anger into something creative, though I'm not denying that it always works. Haha.

postcards

If you could have dinner with anyone at all, dead or alive, famous or not, who would you go with? Out of anywhere in the world, where would you eat?

Alright, if I were to have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, famous or not I'd have to say.. Nick Jonas. He seems like an interesting person to talk to, I'd love to discuss points of views he has on life and of course music. I'd take him to a quiet restaurant where you can actually have a conversation without having to scream at the top of your lungs. Yeap, that's my dream dinner.

Take care,

April Ryan.

Well hello there,

So even when I'm halfway across the globe, miles and miles away I always find something interesting to talk about. At least I hope it's interesting.

Well I made it, the journey to the "Land of smiles" lies behind me because I am actually here. Yes, you guessed right, or wrong. Well I'm in Thailand. Comprende?

So on my ride home, from the airport in Bangkok I had trouble staying awake. To keep my focus, and not fall asleep - hold up, you're probably wondering why I didn't just go and sleep, I wear contacts and I wasn't able to take them out in the car because I forgot my contact fluids and stuff, got it? And press play; To keep my focus and not fall asleep I started questioning things ot myself. Dorky and geeky, definitely but hey it kept me awake.

A question I asked myself: "Would I really kill to get something I wanted"? I mean, people throw that term around, jokingly most of the time but if you put it under the loop, it's pretty odd. Like, I bet a ton of girls around the globe say: "I'd kill to get Nick Jonas to ask me to marry him." Sure, you would. You'd stand over a person's alive body, with a pair of innocent eyes looking your way as you held a knife firmly in your hand, ready to stab his heart. I don't think so, unless you're completely unhumane. Sure, there probably are exceptions but I'm talking from this very point of view, no other. I think people say they'd kil to get something they wanted talk a load of bullshit. But hey, that's just me. You're allowed to disagree. And now don't start sending me messages: "Dude, you're taking the phrase way too seriously." I'm just putting it under the loop, calm down.

Lately I've developed a new pet peeve. A lot of people have been saying: "Oh damn, I feel so depressed" and honestly most of the time I laugh in their face. These kids have like IM names:  Nikki [i feel so depressed] or Lotte | is depressed | Half of the time I wonder, do they even understand what being depressed is? Maybe right now I'm taking the stereotypical view, but kids that are seriously willing to inflict physical pain on their body, because they are feeling SO low, are depressed in my opinion. Sure, there are people who are depressed and don't do that, but I'm trying to make a point. JUST because you've been feeling a little down this week does not instantly mean: "Hotdamn, I'm depressed." Don't freakin' throw the term around, because if you REALLY are depressed WHY would you want your entire contact list to know? Or even anyone?! I thought people who were depressed usually didn't like all the attention?! So stop being a FREAKING drama queen and get the fuck over it.

Alright, those rants were quite heated but it has been bottled up far too long my friend. So, that's all I needed to get off my chest today, hope you're enjoying the summer! Cheerio!

Take care,

April.

Zoom right in under my skin.

Forget about the past 'cause you cannot erase it
So just live the dream, and learn to chase it
And when you can almost taste it
It's all come alive

postcards

Well hello avid blog readers,

Summer, that's what this season is called, correct? - if you live in the USA, Europe - I thought Summer was defined as warm and dry weather, exotic perhaps? Well let me tell you, the weather has spun way out of control. One moment we're having one of the heaviest hale storms in history, and the next moment you see clear blue skies with cotton candy shaped clouds floating on by. Is it the end of the world as we know it? I don't think so, unless you have a knack for mythology and stuff.

Over here in Holland kids around my age are still going to school. Main transportation here? Bikes, yes that's right. Holland is loaded with them. It's totally normal to take your bike to school, even if you have to cycle for at least 10 miles. That's how the average kid gets a little exercise, and believe me, kids these days need it!

Have you seen the percentage of kids that are overweight? About 12% of all Dutch kids, adults and even veterans (age range: 17-70) are overweight! About 62% of the adults in the USA is overweight and about 34% of the kids there are either overweight or a bit obese. Yeah right, save the excuses of: "My bones are heavy" and that chit chat. We all know fast food, lack of exercise are the cause of your scale being totalled. Why not get out for once? Take a jog instead of lazily being slouched down behind the tube. Trust me, there's more out there than TV and silly video games.

Alright, enough with the complaining, I know I can be pretty harsh but it's the hard truth. Like I mentioned earlier, kids like me are still in school, high school for me at least. Still got about one and a half week to go! I bet everyone deep down thinks school is pretty wicked, even though they'd much rather deny it. School is actually pretty awesome, most of my friends hang over there, and you're always learning something new. Okay, I sound like a big mega geek / nerd / dweeb, but to be honest I qualify for all those verbs.

Do you also crave the relaxation of the summer? Are you jetting off somewhere exotic? I am going to Thailand to visit my family over there, I love the welcoming and friendly atmosphere there. All the people are always so kind. My older brother is going on sailing camp. He's passing up Thailand for SAILING CAMP? It shocked me, I went to sailing camp once, and it wasn't really an experience I'd like to remember. Arrogant little toddlers, who think they rock at hoisting the sailes, tackling the rudder, well let me tell you - you're not. Give the other youngsters a chance too, to show what they got, will ya?

Well that's all I wanted to rant about, haha. Thanks for tuning in and take care,

April ; to another galaxy.
